A small step for a person, but a big step for a puppy 🙂 or since when can a puppy walk up the stairs ..?

First we had to provide the stairs with a dog (children’s) stair barrier so that Taki would not hurt herself on the stairs by careless step. The dog barrier was a temporary solution using parts from the cot :-), I definitely recommend using professional children stairs gate (#ad).

There was also a minor modification of the stairs, which had to be provided with carpet treads (#ad). Installation was simple, work for about an hour.

Taki learns to walk up the stairs. Now we will not have to carry our “baby” so often on our hands.

When walking the dog on the stairs, pay attention to his safety. Secure it yourself from below or from above on a leash.

Even though the puppy can already walk up the stairs, it is basically better to carry himt “until it is too heavy” this will help the development of its joints. The puppy may fall when walking down the stairs and the very movement down the stairs is unsuitable for the puppy’s joints.

Of course, everything in moderation… Yorkshire puppy, which has to jump 10 floors several times a day in a block of flats, will not be completely happy, but one floor in the house can be done without major consequences.
